Tiktaka Ghrita — Overview
Tiktaka Ghrita is a classical bitter medicated ghee from the Ghrita Prakarana of Sahasrayogam. Its Kalka (paste) contains Trayanthi, Mustha, Bhunimba, Indrayava, Pippali and Chandana, prepared with Ghrita (12 pala) and an Ashtamamsa Kashaya of Patola, Nimba, Katuka, Darvi, Patha, Duralabha, Parpata and Trayamana boiled in water.
It is indicated in a broad spectrum of pitta-dominant disorders including Kushtha (skin diseases), Visarpa (erysipelas), boils, burning sensation, itching, Pandu (anemia), Galaganda (goiter), non-healing sinus wounds, Apachi, Visphota, abscesses, Gulma, edema, insanity, Hridroga, Timira, Grahani, Switra (leucoderma), Kamala (jaundice), fistula, epilepsy, abdominal disorders, Pradara, hemorrhoids, Raktapitta and Mutrakricchra.
