Overview

Diamond is one of the herbs traditionally used in Ayurveda for heart disease. Vajra (Diamond) is considered the king of gems. Diamond Bhasma is extremely powerful and used in very small doses. It is Rasayana and is indicated in tuberculosis, severe debility, chronic diseases, and as a supreme rejuvenative. The text describes various types of diamonds based on color — white, yellowish, reddish, and blackish. Good quality diamond is clear, lustrous, and free from flaws. Diamond must be incinerated properly using Vajra Musa (special crucible). Improperly prepared diamond Bhasma can be extremely dangerous. Verses: 69-73.
