Gallstones and Fat Metabolism
Excess fat in the bile may create a tendency for gallstones. Before gallstones appear, a person develops a dull aching pain in the right hypochondriac area. Gallstones at the beginning stages of development are greasy and soft and cannot be seen on an x-ray.
Floating stools can indicate excess fat coming into the bile when the liver is not properly processing fat. A person with meda dushti often develops steatorrhea (fatty diarrhea) and passes fat in the stool, so that the stool floats in the water.
