Vrisha Ghrita

A medicated ghee prepared with Vasa Pushpa paste and Vasa Panchanga decoction used for bleeding disorders, fever, cough, asthma and heart disease.

Vrisha Ghrita (ii) — Overview

Vrisha Ghrita (ii) is a stronger variant of Vrisha Ghrita prepared with Vasa Pushpa as the Kalka and a Vasa Panchanga Ashtamamsa Kashaya (whole Vasa plant decoction reduced from 1 part herb + 8 parts water to one-eighth) as the Drava Dravya. Goghrita forms the Sneha base.

Administered internally with honey, it has a broad therapeutic spectrum covering Raktapitta (bleeding disorders), Pittaja Gulma (pitta-type abdominal tumor), Jwara (fever), Swasa (asthma), Kasa (cough), Hridroga (heart disease), Kamala (jaundice), Timira (vision disorders), Bhrama (vertigo), Visarpa (erysipelas) and Swarasada (hoarseness of voice).
