Dhatryadi Ghrita
A medicated ghee based on Amalaki and cooling herbs, used for menorrhagia, pitta-type anemia, vatarakta, fainting, and as a uterine tonic in infertility.
Dhatryadi Ghrita — Overview
Dhatryadi Ghrita uses a simple Kalka of Draksha, Yashtimadhu and Chandana with Ghrita as the Sneha. The Drava Dravya is the swarasa of Amalaki, Vidari, Ikshu, Shatavari and Kushmanda (1 part) with milk (half part), and it is administered internally with sugar.
It is indicated in Asrigdara (menorrhagia), Pittaja Pandu (pitta-type anemia), Pittaja Gulma, Somaroga, Vatarakta (gout), general pitta disorders, Murcha (fainting), Mada, Unmada (insanity) and Madatyaya (alcoholism). It also acts as a Garbhasthapaka — supporting conception and pregnancy in women with infertility (Vandhya).
