Increased Rasa Dhatu (Rasa Vruddhi)

When rasa is increased (perhaps to 11 anjali), it is called rasa vruddhi. Increased rasa creates lymphatic congestion, edema, swelling, excess salivation, heaviness, and stupor — all kapha symptoms. Rasa is easily affected by kapha because the byproduct of rasa is kapha. Lymphatic stagnation, lymphatic congestion, edema, and breast congestion are all kapha disorders.

When pitta goes into rasa dhatu, the person can develop acne, hives, rashes, urticaria, and fever. When vata enters rasa dhatu, there is dryness, fatigue, and emaciation.
