Overview

Pineapple is one of the herbs traditionally used in Ayurveda for constipation. Sweet and sour taste, heating virya, pungent vipak. Unripe fruit is pitta provoking; ripe fruit soothes vata and kapha. Not good for pitta constitution by itself. Not for children under seven.
