Green mango is used in various healing preparations.
- Dehydration: Boil grated green mango with 4 parts water for 3–5 minutes. Add jaggery or organic sugar to taste and 1 teaspoon lime juice. Strain. This drink called pahne nourishes the plasma and helps people suffering from dehydration.
- Cooking aid: Peeled green mango skin can be dried in sunlight and used like curry leaves for lentil soups. Helps digestion of lentils. Skins last for a year.
- Burning eyes: Put the pulp of grated green mango on the eyelids at bedtime.
- Sunstroke: Eat a few pieces of green mango with a pinch of salt. Wait at least an hour before drinking any liquids.
