- Qualities (Guna): Laghu (light), Ruksha (dry)
Safety & Precautions
Our classical sources list no specific contraindications, drug interactions or overdose signs for Gorakhmundi. That does not mean there are none, only that we have no grounded data to share. Keep doses within the classical range.
What its properties suggest
Gorakhmundi is hot (Ushna), dry (Ruksha) and light (Laghu), with a pungent post-digestive effect. By ordinary Ayurvedic logic, herbs like this can aggravate Pitta (heat) and Vata (dryness) if overused. If you notice heat, burning, dryness or constipation, reduce or stop and consult a practitioner.
Medical conditions
Gorakhmundi is traditionally used for diabetes (Prameha). If you take blood sugar medication, talk to your doctor before adding it. Persistent fever, spreading skin disease or swelling always deserve a medical diagnosis.
Pregnancy and nursing
We have no safety data for pregnancy or breastfeeding, so avoid it during these times unless a qualified practitioner advises otherwise.
