Yogaraja Guggulu

A classical Guggulu-based pill formulation with Trikatu, Triphala, and numerous aromatic herbs, widely used for Amavata, joint disorders, and Vata diseases.

Yogaraja Guggulu — Overview

Yogaraja Guggulu is one of the most widely prescribed Guggulu-based pill formulations in classical Ayurveda. It combines Guggulu resin with an extensive blend of aromatic and carminative herbs including Trikatu (Pippali, Maricha, Sunthi), Triphala, Chitraka, Vidanga, Ajamoda, Jeeraka, Devadaru, Ela, Rasna, Gokshura, Aswagandha, Satavari, and Guduchi, bound together with ghee.

It is the classical choice for Amavata (rheumatoid arthritis) and a broad spectrum of Vata disorders including Sandhi vata (joint pain), Manyasthambha (neck stiffness), Kroshtukasirsha (sciatica), Hanugraha (lockjaw), and Karnasoola (earache). It also addresses Krimi (worms), Dushta Vrana (chronic ulcers), Gulma, Udara, Arshas, and Agnimandya, and is regarded as a Bala Vardhaka (strength-promoting) tonic. The formulation is also cited in Bhaishajyaratnavali with slight alterations.
