Vijaya Bhairava Taila

A specialized medicated oil prepared with mineral drugs and animal horns, used externally for all Vata disorders and Sannipata fever.

Vijaya Bhairava Taila — Overview

Vijaya Bhairava Taila is a complex, specialized Parisishta Taila combining herbo-mineral-animal ingredients: Suta (Parada/mercury), Gandhaka, Nabhi (Vatsanabhi), Chayilum (Hingula), Haritaki, Sarshapa, Trikatu, Bhunaga (earthworm), Lohitanda, and the horns of bull, deer, goat and ram along with elephant tusk (Sringa Gana).

The paste is applied on a cloth wrapped around a stick of Devadaru, then burned while pouring Nimba Taila over it; the dripping oil is collected and combined with Kukkutanda Taila (egg oil). It is administered externally for Sarva Vataroga (all Vata disorders) and Sannipata Jwara (tridoshic fever).
