A butter-based formulation prepared from milk boiled with Vidanga and allied drugs, used for constipation and abdominal vata disorders.
Vidangadi Ghrita — Overview
Vidangadi Ghrita is an unusual preparation made by boiling cow's milk with Vidanga, Eranda root (Panchangula), Sunthi and Palandu, then setting curd and collecting butter from it. The butter is administered internally with rock salt.
It is indicated for constipation (Vibandha), vata accumulated in the abdomen (Koshtagata Vata), pitta disorders, abdominal tumors (Gulma) and heart disease (Hridroga).
