Raktapittahara Kashaya — Overview

Raktapittahara Kashaya is presented as three formulations for bleeding disorders. The first combines Satavari, Krishna Sariba, Chandana, Usira, Hribera, Tanduliyaka, Draksha, Manjishta, Utpala and Yashti, taken with sugar and honey. It is indicated for upward and downward bleeding, pradara, unmada and intermittent fever with burning.

The second formula uses Vata Sringa and Vasa taken with milk for raktapitta. The third combines Chandana, Usira, Mustha, Laja, Mudga, Pippali and Yava as powder soaked overnight in Bala Kashaya and taken the next day, also for raktapitta.
