Pushyanuga Choorna — Overview
Pushyanuga Choorna is a classical herbal powder traditionally prepared on the day of Pushyami Nakshatra, which gives the formulation its name. It combines a large group of astringent and hemostatic drugs including Patha, Jambu and Amra seed kernels, Pashanabheda, Rasanjana, Salmali exudate, Manjishta, Kutaja bark, Bilwa, Ativisha, Lodhra, Hribera, Gairika, Sunthi, Yashtimadhu, Draksha, Raktachandana, Dhataki, Madhooka, and Arjuna.
The powder is administered internally with honey and Tandulodaka (rice-washed water) and is used for hemorrhoids, chronic and bloody diarrhea, intestinal worms, and gynecological complaints such as vaginal disorders, menstrual irregularities, and leucorrhea.
