A decoction or cold infusion for alcoholism and its sequelae (Madatyaya), prepared from Mridwika, Madhuka, Madhooka, Pippali, Kharjura, Chandana, Sariba, Mustha, Laja and Usira.

Madatyayahara Kashaya — Overview

Madatyayahara Kashaya is used for Madatyaya (alcoholism and its after-effects). The ingredients are Mridwika (raisins), Madhuka (Yashtimadhu), Madhooka, Pippali, Kharjura (dates), Chandana (Malayaja), Sariba, Mustha (Abda), Laja and Usira.

It may be prepared as a hot decoction (Quath) or as a cold infusion (Seeta Kashaya) and is indicated for Trishna (thirst), Murcha (fainting), Mada (intoxication) and Mati Vibhrama (mental confusion).
