A Kutaja-based jaggery preparation used for anemia, skin diseases, fever, splenic disorders, hemorrhoids, and many other conditions.
Koutajadi Guda — Overview
Koutajadi Guda is a broad-spectrum jaggery preparation built on a decoction or juice (1 pala each) of Kutaja, Triphala, Nimba, Patola, Mustha and Sunthi, to which 8 pala of Shilajatu and 8 pala of sugar are added along with Tugakshiri (Vamsalochana), Pippali, Amalaki, Karkatakasringa, Kantakari fruit and root, Trijataka and honey.
It is administered before meals with jaggery, pomegranate juice, cow milk, meat soup, rain water, Sura or Asava, and is indicated in Pandu (anemia), Kushta (skin diseases), Jwara (fever), Pleeha (splenomegaly), Tamaka (asthma), Arshas, Bhagandhara (fistula), foul breath (Putigandha), Hridroga, disorders of semen and urine, Sosha (wasting), Udara, Gara (poisoning), Kasa (cough), Asrigdara (menorrhagia), Raktapitta, Sopha, Gulma, Galaroga (throat disorders), Vardhma and Bhrama (giddiness). It is described as Sarvadoshahara and Mangalakara.
