Jwarankusha Rasa
A mercurial fever formulation with Kajjali (mercury-sulfur), Tankana, Vatsanabhi, Maricha, Katphala, and Danti bija used for Tridoshic fever.
Jwarankusha Rasa — Overview
Jwarankusha Rasa contains Parada (1 part), Gandhaka (2 parts), Tankana (2 parts), Vatsanabhi (1 part), Maricha (5 parts), Katphala (5 parts), and Danti bija (5 parts). Kajjali (black sulfide of mercury) is prepared first from Parada and Gandhaka, then the remaining drugs are added and pounded well for one yama.
The mixture is rolled into pills of Masha size and indicated for Tridosha Jwara — fever involving all three doshas. The formulation is also recorded in Rasendrasarasangraha, Rasarajasundara, and Rasachandamsu.
