Chandanadi Taila — Overview
Chandanadi Taila is an elaborate cooling oil whose kalka includes prapoundarika, manjishta, dhataki, padmakesara, kumuda, utpala, saluka, mrinala, bisa, padmaka, yavasa, kusa, kasa, ikshu, and jeevaniya gana dravyas (1 tola each). Ten palas each of chandana, udichya, jatamamsi, amalaki, yashtimadhu, sariba, and bala are boiled in 1 drona water to a chaturdha-avasishta kashaya. Additional liquids include milk, brahmi swarasa, satavari swarasa, kumari swarasa, and tender coconut water.
It is applied as abhyanga, pana, and nasya, and is indicated in Daha (burning sensation), Murcha (fainting), Sirograha, Kamala (jaundice), Adhyaroga, Raktapitta (bleeding disorders), Pradara (leucorrhea), Pitta roga, and Visarpa (erysipelas).
