A decoction for menorrhagia (Asrigdara) made from Mustha, Guduchi, Yashtimadhu, Chandana, Usira, Sunthi, Masha, Agnimandha, Pippali, Mudga, Kulattha and Chitraka, given with honey.

Asrigdarahara Kashaya — Overview

Asrigdarahara Kashaya is a decoction for Asrigdara (menorrhagia and heavy uterine bleeding). It is prepared from Mustha, Guduchi (Amruta), Yashtimadhu (Madhuka), Chandana, Usira (Sevya), Sunthi (Viswa), Masha, Agnimandha, Pippali (Kana), Mudga, Kulattha and Chitraka.

The decoction is administered internally with honey as anupana. The formulation balances both pitta (bleeding) and vata (cramping) components of excessive menstrual flow.
