Ojo-Vruddhi: Increased Raw Ojas

Vruddhi means increase. In ojo-vruddhi, ojas is not fully processed and builds to an excessively high level. Increased kapha raises raw ojas, and this raw ojas in turn increases kapha dosha, creating a self-reinforcing cycle seen in many kapha conditions such as obesity and diabetes.

The person may feel heaviness in the extremities; joints become loose, swollen, and painful; there may be high triglycerides, high cholesterol, hypertension, and even sudden heart attack. Glaucoma, generalized swelling, lymphomas, and lipomas are also conditions of ojo-vruddhi. (The suffix -oma means tumor.)
