Overview

Maidenhair Fern is one of the herbs traditionally used in Ayurveda for bleeding disorders. Mayurshikha (Actinopteris dichotoma) is found at rocky locations at up to 4000 feet. Its fronds are fan-shaped resembling a peacock's tail. It is used in bleeding disorders and urinary complaints. The fern grows on rocks and old walls. Dose: Swarasa 1-2.5 tola. Verse: 289.
