What is Gems — Ruby (Padmaraga / Manikya / माणिक्य)?

Manikya (Ruby) is a precious red gemstone. Ruby Bhasma is used in heart diseases, digestive weakness, eye diseases, and as a rejuvenative. It is considered warming and strengthening. The text describes characteristics of good rubies — deep red color, transparency, and luster. Flawed rubies should not be used medicinally. Verses: 74-76.

Ruby – Ayurvedic Healing Properties

Ruby is red in color. This gem helps concentration and gives mental power. Ruby strengthens the heart. Pitta is sensitive to this gem; however, it is good for excess vata and kapha.

How to wear: Should be worn on the left ring-finger in either a gold or silver ring.
