Overview
Narkul is one of the herbs traditionally used in Ayurveda for urinary disorders. Narkul (Arundo donax) is the giant reed, different from common reed. It grows to 10-12 feet. The root contains the alkaloid Gramine and Donaxarine. Used as a diuretic and galactagogue. The reed is also used for making musical instruments and writing implements.
