Vishuchikahara Kashaya — Overview
Vishuchikahara Kashaya is a decoction indicated in Visuchika — a cholera-like condition of acute gastroenteritis with vomiting and diarrhea. The formula combines Bilwa, Ajamoda, Mustha, Sunthi, Dhanyaka (coriander), Vacha, Puti Karanja, Hribera, Sathi (Kacchora), and Chitraka.
Alternative single-drug decoctions of Kaitharya (Katphala) or Sarapunkha may be used. The formulation addresses Visuchika, excessive thirst (Trishna), and colic pain (Soola).
