Vidradhihara Kashaya — Overview
Vidradhihara Kashaya is used for Vidradhi, particularly internal abscess (Antarvidradhi). The first formula includes Kantakari, Varuna, Agnimandha, Sigru, Sunthi, and Punarnava. The second combines Mustha, Chandana, Daruharidra bark, Bhunimba, Usira, and Kutaja — taken with honey for internal abscess and to drain pus (Puyanasaka).
The third formula is the Varunadi gana, comprising Varuna, two types of Saireyaka, Satavari, Chitraka, Murva, Bilwa, Karkatakasringa, Brihati, Kantakari, two types of Karanja, Agnimandha, Haritaki, Sigru, Darbha, and Artagala. This comprehensive decoction is indicated in phlegm disorders, low digestive fire, Adhyavata, headache, Gulma, and internal abscess.
