Vayu Gutika — Overview
Vayu Gutika is a compound pill containing Trijataka, Trikatu, Triphala, Vatsanabhi, Kasturi, Jatiphala, Kankushta, Jatipatri, Akarakarabha, Karpura, Tankana, Hingula, Vacha, Rasanjana, Lavanga, Jeeraka and Krishna Jeeraka, Satahwa, Hribera, Parada, Rasna, Ajamoda, Manahshila, Yashtimadhu, Sital chini, Kantha Bhasma, Sarjakshara and Yavakshara in equal parts.
The ingredients are pounded with rose water (Gulabi Jala) and Bhringaraja Swarasa for three days and rolled into pills the size of a Gunja seed. Taken with Jeeraka Kashaya, it acts as a Vatanulomaka (downward-moving vata corrective), treats hiccough (Hicca) and is said to be beneficial in the management of all diseases.
