Trishnahara Kashaya — Overview
Trishnahara Kashaya provides multiple options for excessive thirst (Trishna). The first note states that decoctions prepared with Drakshadi gana, Saribadi gana or Vidaryadi gana drugs are useful when thirst accompanies fever. The second formula uses Sariba, Usira, Kashmarya, Madhooka, Sweta and Rakta Chandana (Sisira Dwayam), Yashtimadhu and Parushaka, and is indicated for burning sensation (Daha), Raktapitta, thirst and fever.
The third formula, for pittaja trishna, combines Dhanyaka, Pippali, Trina Panchamoola, Shatavari, Kola and Yavasa; the decoction is cooled naturally and taken with sugar.
