Triphaladi Talam

An external scalp application containing Triphala, Chandana, Trikatu, Usira and numerous aromatic drugs, pounded with Amalaki juice, used for phlegm disorders, fever and swelling.

Triphaladi Talam — Overview

Triphaladi Talam is a polyherbal external scalp application built around Triphala, Chandana (sandalwood) and Trikatu, with Usira, Ela, Madhuka, two types of Jeeraka, Vidanga, Tagara, Palasa, Mustha, Jatiphala, Khadira, Sringi Bhasma, Gairika, Tankana, Karpura, Hingu and other aromatics in equal parts, with Musambara added as half the total weight. The powder is pounded with Amalaki Swarasa (Indian gooseberry juice) and applied over the scalp.

It pacifies excess Kapha in the head region and is indicated in Sannipata, Kapha Prakopa, Pratisyaya (chronic rhinitis), Jwara (fever) and Sodha (swelling).
