Triphaladi Ghrita

Medicated ghee prepared with Triphala paste and Triphala decoction, administered with honey, sugar or Triphala Kashaya for Timira (vision disorders).

Triphaladi Ghrita — Overview

Triphaladi Ghrita is a simple but potent eye-restorative ghee. The Kalka uses 1 pala each of the three Triphala fruits. The Drava Dravya is a Triphala decoction (8 pala boiled in 1 adhaka of water, reduced to one fourth) combined with cow's milk and sugarcane juice, cooked into half a prastha of cow's ghee.

Its indication is Timira roga, and it is specifically administered internally with honey, sugar, or Triphala Kashaya as anupana — an important dispensing detail that shapes its Pitta-balancing action on the eyes.
