Talisadi Ghrita

A medicated ghee prepared with Talisa patri and cooling herbs, used for skin disorders including vitiligo and hyperpigmentation.

Talisadi Ghrita — Overview

Talisadi Ghrita is a medicated clarified butter from the Sahasra Yoga's Ghrita Prakarana. Its paste herbs (Kalka Dravya) include Talisa patri, Hribera, Manjishta, Sariba, Madhuka, Chandana, Lodhra, Kumkuma, Harichandana, Usira, Padmaka, Matulunga fruit rind, Satahwa, Nagapushpa, Haridra and Daruharidra — a cooling, blood-purifying and complexion-enhancing blend. Cow's ghee serves as the Sneha Dravya and a kashaya of the same herbs (reduced to one-quarter) as the Drava Dravya.

It is indicated in Switra (vitiligo), Sidhma (a scaly skin disease), Pitika (papules) and Vyanga (facial pigmentation and melasma), making it a classical choice for chronic skin and pigmentation disorders.
