Swasari Taila — Overview
Swasari Taila is a castor oil-based preparation from the Parisishta section specifically directed against respiratory obstruction. The kalka contains Katuki, Trikatu, six types of Tandula, Bharangi, Hingu, Kirata, two types of Yavani, Kayaphala, Chinoshana (Sitalchini) and Lasuna. Eranda Taila is the base oil, and the drava dravyas include Bhringaraja, Gajapippali, Punarnava, Putika, Aragwadha patra, Karanja patra, Vamsa patra, Arka patra, Neyavalli, Lavanavalli and Ardraka, pounded with coconut water and coconut milk.
It removes Sodha (edema), Swasa (dyspnea/asthma), Kasa (cough), Jwara (fever) and obstruction of stool and urine (Malamootrabaddha).
