Three decoction formulas for hoarseness of voice (Swarabheda) of vata, pitta and kapha origin, using drugs like Sunthi, Rasna, Pippali, Vasa, Draksha, Trijata and Kantakari.
Swarabhedahara Kashaya — Overview
Swarabhedahara Kashaya is a trio of decoctions for hoarseness of voice (Swarabheda). The first, for vataja swarabheda, uses Sunthi, Rasna, Pippali, Aguru and Vasa administered with ghee; alternatively Dasamoola decoction with Pippali powder and ghee may be used.
The second, for pittaja swarabheda, uses Draksha, Pippali and Vasa. The third, for kaphaja swarabheda, combines Trijata, Trikatu, Kantakari and Bharangi taken with honey, and also addresses anorexia (Aruchi), nausea (Hrillasa) and excess salivation (Praseka).
