Swadamshtradi Ghrita

A medicated ghee based on Gokshura and other herbs, used for Vata-Pittaja heart disease, abdominal pain, urinary difficulty, diabetes, hemorrhoids, cough, wasting and fever.

Swadamshtradi Ghrita — Overview

Swadamshtradi Ghrita is named after Swadamshtra (Gokshura). Its kalka includes Atmagupta, Jivanthi, Meda, Rishabhaka, Jivaka, Satavari, Riddhi, Mridwika (Draksha), Sarkara, Sravani and Bisa. Cow's ghee is the base, and the drava dravyas are a Chaturdhavasishta Kashaya of Gokshura, Usira, Manjishta, Bala, Kashmarya, Katrina, Darbha moola, Prisniparni, Palasa, Rishabhaka and Saliparni, together with milk.

It is indicated in Vata-Pittaja Hridroga (heart disease of vata-pitta origin), Soola (colic pain), Mutrakricchra (dysuria), Prameha (diabetic disorders), Arshas (hemorrhoids), Kasa (cough), Sosha (wasting) and Jwara (fever). It also acts as a Bala-Mamsa Vardhaka — promoting strength and muscle tissue.
