Soolakuthara Rasa — Overview
Soolakuthara Rasa (literally "the axe for colic") is a mercurial pill used as a specific remedy for Sarva Soola — all types of colic and abdominal pain. It contains Parada, Tankana, Gandham (Gandhaka), Triphala, Vyosha (Trikatu), Talaka, Visha (Vatsanabha), Tamra, and Jambalam (Jaipala) — one part each.
The drugs are pounded with Bhringaraja Swarasa for three days and rolled into pills the size of one Gunja. They are administered internally with Maricha Choorna (black pepper powder) or fresh ginger juice. This formulation is also cited in Brihannighanturatnakara.
