Sitopaladi Churna
A classical cough and respiratory formula of rock candy, bamboo manna, Pippali, cardamom and cinnamon used for cough, asthma, wasting, and burning sensations.
Sitopaladi Choorna — Overview
Sitopaladi Choorna is one of the most widely used classical cough and respiratory formulas. Its simple composition is Sitopala (rock candy, 16 karsha), Vamsalochana (bamboo manna, 8 karsha), Pippali (4 karsha), Ela (2 karsha) and Twacha/cinnamon (1 karsha) — a graded ratio that is easy to remember.
It is administered with madhu (honey) and ghrita (ghee) and is indicated for asthma (Swasa), cough (Kasa), wasting (Kshaya), burning sensation in the hands and feet, low digestive fire, numbness of the tongue, flank pain, loss of appetite, fever and upward-moving bleeding disorders (Urdwagata Raktapitta).
