Sasa Vasadi Ghrita — Overview

Sasa Vasadi Ghrita is a rejuvenative medicated ghee notable for its use of Sasa Mamsarasa (rabbit meat soup) as one of the liquid components. The Kalka contains Devadaru, Vidanga, Aswagandha, Mustha, Haridra, Jivaka, Rishabhaka, Madhulika, Pippali, Rasna, Karkatakasringa, Bharangi, Draksha, Kakoli, Kshira Kakoli, Nagara, Madhuka, Sita, Prisniparni and Mashaparni.

The Sneha Dravya is Goghrita (1 prastha) and the Drava Dravyas include Sasa Mamsarasa, Vasa Swarasa and Goksheera (each 1 adhaka). Prepared by the standard Ghrita Paka method, it is indicated in Kshaya (wasting/tuberculosis), Kasa (cough) and Jwara (fever), targeting debilitating respiratory and consumptive conditions.
