Sarvamayantaka Ghrita
An extensive polyherbal medicated ghee treating nearly all Vata, Pitta and Kapha disorders including paralysis, stiffness, tremors, sciatica, and chronic pain.
Sarvamayantaka Ghrita — Overview
Sarvamayantaka Ghrita — literally “destroyer of all diseases” — is one of the most elaborate ghee formulations in Ayurveda. Its Kalka Dravya includes Devadaru, Vacha, Kushta, Sarala, Chandana, Jatamamsi, Rasna, Satahwa, Saileya, Aguru, Kachora, the Ashtavarga (Kakoli, Kshira Kakoli, Jivaka, Rishabhaka, Meda, Mahameda), Pattanga, Rakta Chandana, Madhuka, Usira, Manjishta, Renuka, Vyaghranakha, Trigandha (Twak, Ela, Patri), Nagapushpa, Tagara, Padmaka, Aswagandha, Hingu, Sobhanjana, Lodhra, Vidanga, Sarja and Guggulu. It uses cow's ghee (1 prastha), til oil (4 prastha) and castor oil (1 prastha) as the Sneha Dravyas.
The kashaya is prepared from Bala root, Dasamoola, Satavari, Guduchi, Draksha, Madhuka, Daru, Masha, Aswagandha, Eranda, Kuluttha, Badara, Yava, Punarnava, Varuna, Nirgundi, Soma, Arka, Prasarini, Murva, Arjuna, Rasna, Karpasa seeds, Trina Panchaka and many more, boiled in 4 Khari of water and reduced to one-eighth.
It is indicated in Adhyavata, Sirokampa (head tremors), seven types of Khanja (lameness), Manyasthambha, Hanusthambha, Greevasthambha (neck and jaw stiffness), Akshepaka (convulsions), Pakshaghata (hemiplegia), Ardita (facial paralysis), Urusthambha, Swasa (asthma), all varieties of Soola (colic in chest, flank, bladder, abdomen, throat), and is particularly effective in the 20 types of Kapha disorders, 40 types of Pitta disorders and 80 types of Vata disorders, as well as all fevers, Kshaya (wasting), Unmada (insanity) and Apasmara (epilepsy).
