Saraswata Choorna — Overview
Saraswata Choorna is a large compound medhya powder, incorporating Trikatu, Trijataka, Mustha, Vidanga, Karpura, Jatamamsi, Chitraka, Jeeraka, Triphala, Yavani, Manjishta, Aguru, Saindhava, Yashtimadhu, Katukarohini, Kushta, Vacha, Kumkuma, Draksha, Chandana, Devadaru, Jyotishmathi, Haridra, Apamarga, Kapikacchu, Trivrit, Brihat Panchamoola, Vasa, Sweta Kamala, Brihati, Kantakari, Varahi kanda, Sahadevi, Bhringaraja, Saliparni, Ananta, Katphala, Loha Bhasma, Chameli, Eranda, Sweta Arka, Nili and Palasa in equal parts. The powder is steeped in Brahmi juice, dried, and taken as 1 karsha early in the morning while the patient stands in water up to neck level.
It is a Bhasma–Kshara yoga indicated for Smriti (memory), Medha (intellect), Ayu (longevity), Arogya (health), Kanthi (complexion), Soubhagya and Pushti (nourishment).
