Samangadi Ghrita — Overview

Samangadi Ghrita is a paediatric medicated ghee. The Kalka Dravya consists of Manjishta (Samanga), Dhataki, Lodhra, Syonaka, Bala, Atibala, Mashaparni, Mudgaparni, Mudga, unripe Bilwa fruits and Karpasi Phala (half pala each). Cow's ghee is cooked with equal parts of cow's milk and Dadhi masthu (whey) as the Drava Dravyas.

It is specifically indicated in Dantodbheda janya roga — disorders arising from teething in infants, including fever, diarrhea, irritability and digestive upset that commonly accompany eruption of teeth.
