Punarnavadi Lehya — Overview

Punarnavadi Lehya is prepared from a decoction of Punarnava, Guduchi, Devadaru, and Dasamoola (1 Adhaka), combined with 1 Prastha of ginger juice and 1 Tula of jaggery, cooked to Lehya consistency. After cooling it is finished with Vyosha (Trikatu), Twak, Ela, Patra, and Chavya, and 1 Kudava of honey.

It is indicated in edema (Sodha), pain (Soola), cough (Kasa), asthma (Swasa), and anorexia (Aruchi), and acts as a strength- and complexion-promoter (Bala, Varna karaka) and digestive stimulant (Agni Vardhaka).
