Prabhanjana Vimardana Taila — Overview

Prabhanjana Vimardana Taila ("that which crushes the wind") is an elaborate polyherbal medicated sesame oil. Its kalka includes Tagara, Devadaru, Ela, Sunthi, Sarshapa, Chora, Nili, Utpala, Rasanjana, Satahwa, Kushta, Sindhuttha, Rasna, Krishna Sariba, Vacha, Chitraka, Mamsi, Sarala and Katurohini — each in the quantity of 1 karsha.

The sneha is 2 prastha of sesame oil and the drava dravya is prepared from Bala, Satavari, Sigru, Varuna, Arka, Karanja, Eranda, Saireyaka and Vajigandha (Aswagandha). It is classically used to subdue aggravated vata (the "great wind") throughout the body.
