Pancha Sneha Taila
Pancha Sneha Taila marries five fats, sesame, castor, coconut, ghee, and Varahi, with Dashamula and Bala to calm Vata, ease stiff joints, and knit fractures.
Pancha Sneha Taila — Overview
Pancha Sneha Taila is unique in that it combines five different fats: 48 tola each of Varahi Taila, sesame oil, castor oil, coconut oil, and cow's ghee (Takraja). The Kalka consists of Rasna, Saindhava, Devadaru, Karpasasthi, Kuluttha, Chitraka, and Gandira.
The liquid phase is a Chaturdhamsa Kashaya made from one prastha each of Dashamula, Bala, Masha, Karpasasthi, and Kuluttha boiled in two drona of water, along with two drona of Dhanyamla and 96 tola of cow's milk. Indications include Vataroga, Vata vedana (joint/nerve pain), Sthambha (stiffness), Bhagnapida (post-fracture pain), and Bahu Vriddhi.
