Nilibhringadi Taila

A classic hair tonic oil made with Nili, Bhringaraja, Amalaki and four types of milk, prized as Kesya.

Nilibhringadi Taila — Overview

Nilibhringadi Taila is one of the most celebrated hair oils in Ayurveda. Its Kalka contains Yashtyahwa (Yashtimadhu), Gunja and Anjana — one pala each. The oil is cooked with juices of Nili, Bhringaraja, Satakratu lata (Indravaruni/Kakadani) and Amalaki, combined with four types of milk: goat's milk, coconut milk, buffalo milk and cow's milk — each at one prastha.

It is classified as Kesya — a dedicated hair tonic that darkens, strengthens and promotes growth. The combination of Bhringaraja with multiple milks gives the oil a distinctive nourishing and cooling action on the scalp.
