Modakadi Choorna — Overview

Modakadi Choorna is a herbal powder formulation containing Modaka (Ajamoda), Ativisha, the Jati traya (Jatiphala, Javitri, Lavanga), Bhanga (Kanchavu), Jeeraka, Khurasani Yamani, and Ahiphena — each in one tola. To these are added Kuberaksha Bija (3 tola), Godambu (wheat, 6 tola), and Sambuka Mamsa (6 tola).

The powder is prepared from these ingredients in the specified quantities and administered internally with honey. It is indicated in Atisara (diarrhea), Grahani (malabsorption/IBS-like syndrome), Soola (abdominal pain), and Udara roga (abdominal disorders).
