Maha Rasnadi Quatha — Overview
Maha Rasnadi Quatha is a large Rasna-predominant decoction from the Kashaya Prakarana of Sahasrayoga. The formulation uses Rasna at double the quantity of all other drugs combined, alongside Dhanvayasa, Bala, Eranda, Devadaru, Sathi, Vacha, Vasa, Sunthi, Haritaki, Chavya, Mustha, Punarnava, Guduchi, Vriddhadaru, Gokshura, Aswagandha, Ativisha, Aragwadha, Satavari, Pippali, Sahachara, Dhanyaka and Brihati dwaya.
The decoction is traditionally administered with adjuvants such as Sunthi Choorna, Pippali Choorna, Yogaraja Guggulu, Ajamodadi Choorna or Eranda Taila. It is indicated in a wide spectrum of Vata-dominant conditions including generalized tremors, hemiplegia, sciatica, rheumatoid arthritis, filariasis, convulsions, hernia, abdominal distension, facial paralysis, infertility and gynecological disorders.
