Madhusnuhi Rasayana — Overview
Madhusnuhi Rasayana is a rejuvenative electuary built around Madhusnuhi (Smilax) with supporting herbs including Guduchi, Triphala, Trikatu, Trijataka, Yavani, Saindhava, Vidanga, Rasna, Bharangi, Chavya, Pippali moola, Dhanyaka, both Jeerakas, Kushta, Chitraka, Sariba, Varahi and Aswagandha — cooked with ghee, sugar and honey.
Administered early in the morning, it is a Deepana and Ruchya (digestive and appetizer) and is indicated in Vata-Pittaja disorders, Rukshaja dryness, Kapha Kshaya, Prameha (diabetes), Gulma (abdominal tumors) and Soola (pain). It also acts as a Dhatu Vardhaka (tissue-builder) and Bala prada (strength-giver).
