Lavangadyam Modakam — Overview
Lavangadyam Modakam is a fragrant, spice-rich pill formulation traditionally attributed to the Aswin twins, the celestial physicians. It combines Lavanga (clove), Pippali, Sunthi, Maricha, Jeeraka, Nagakesara, Tagara, Ela, Jatiphala, Vamsalochana, Tejapatra, Chandana, Aguru, Usira, Karpura, Japatri, Jatamamsi, and other aromatic drugs with additional Lavanga and double the quantity of Sarkara (sugar), formed into 3-Masha pills.
It is indicated for Amlapitta (hyperacidity), Agnimandya (weak digestion), Ajirna (indigestion), Kamala (jaundice), Pandu (anemia), Grahani (malabsorption), and Atisara (diarrhea), and also serves as a Bala Pushtikaraka (strength-nourishing) and Sukra Vardhaka (reproductive tonic).
