Lavangadi Choorna — Overview
Lavangadi Choorna is a fragrant powder made from Lavanga (clove), Ela, Twak (cinnamon), Nagakesara (½ pala each), Sunthi, Tavakshiri, Jatamamsi, Pippali, Chandana, Tagara, Hribera and Kankola in equal parts, with sugar equal to half the combined total.
It acts as an appetizer, digestive stimulant, aphrodisiac, cardiac tonic, strength promoter and Tridosha pacifier. Indications include throat disorders, cough, hiccup, chronic rhinitis (Pinasa), tuberculosis (Yakshma), bronchial asthma (Tamaka Swasa), diarrhea, chest injury (Urahkshata), diabetes, loss of appetite, abdominal tumor and malabsorption syndrome (Grahani).
