Fermented preparation based on Aloe vera (Kumari) juice used for digestive, respiratory, and hepatic disorders.
Kumaryasava — Overview
Kumaryasava is a fermented preparation with Aloe vera juice (Kanya rasa / Kumari Swarasa — 50 pala) and jaggery (25 pala) as the base. Supporting drugs include Chaturjata, Lavanga, Saindhava, Nisa dwaya, Krishna (Pippali), Maricha, Kuberaksha, Dhataki, Amalaki, Ugragandha, Vidanga, Japatri — one pala each — plus two pala of Haritaki Choorna.
The mixture is sealed in earthenware and buried for fifteen days, then filtered. It is indicated in abdominal tumors (Gulma), upward-moving wind (Udavarta), distension (Adhmana), flank pain (Parswa Soola), abdominal disorders (Udara), Kapha derangement, low digestive fire (Mandagni), asthma (Swasa), cough (Kasa), hiccups (Hicca), wasting (Kshaya), splenic disorders (Pleeha), liver disorders (Yakrit vikara), and edema (Sodha).
