Kshiridrumadi Ghrita — Overview
Kshiridrumadi Ghrita is a cooling medicated ghee for the eyes. Its Kalka is built from Darvi, Yashti, two types of Chandana (white and red), Jati Mukula, Saindhava, Laksha and Kataka. The Drava Dravya features shoots of the five Ksheeri trees (Kshiridrumankura), Gorakhmundi, Gojihwa, Sringataka, Vishamushti, Atasi, Lodhra, Sambarana Pallava, Vasanthi Mukula and Durva juice, with cow's milk and palm toddy (Talaghati rasa).
It is indicated in Netraroga (eye diseases) and is distinctive in that it is meant to be used as Tarpana (eye-soaking) and Aschyotana (eye drops) rather than taken internally.
